Witness Identification Experiment

This was a basic memory experiment to see if we would make good witnesses.

1. First each person in the group cut out a face from a magazine (the faces should be about the same size)

2. cut the face into major facial features (eyes, mouth, nose, etc.)and mix them all together

3. Each person should make a face from the features in the pile and take ten seconds to try anf memorize them.

4. Put the chosen facial features back in the pile and try to reconstruct the face that your group member showed you.

In this experiment we practiced observing facial detail to determine if we would make good eye witnesses for a crime investigation. By having us reconstruct the faces cut from the magazine we found that it is difficult to recall such minor details especially when we were only given ten seconds to memorize the face and they are blanded together with other features that look simlar and are about the same size.

  1. You explained the process really well! Maybe include a picture of the face you created, if you took pictures?

  3. I like how you reflected on your results, that way I got a clear picture of what you did and what you found. Great job!
